Play Garden

The installation is inspired by the cell structure of a seed, with the pattern magnified to an observable proportion, mimicking the same properties of porosity through its gauze woven lining. The hard-wearing, light-weight material, encourages the growth of plants between its weaving, and in doing so fuses with and further reinforces the landscape.

Covering mounds of artificial landscape, the lining gives way for the existing trees on the site, and in turn defines an undulating terrain around them, forming a sequence of varied, interesting visiting spaces, encouraging interaction and play; including shaded canopies, slides, seating areas and trampolines.
